FLORIDA | ST. AUGUSTINE

This blurry pic of the St. Augustine Lighthouse looks like a painting!

Ghost Hunting Pub Crawl Tour, anyone? If you're into that kind of kooky stuff, St. Augustine is your town! This place is like no other Floridian city- and for that reason it's one of my favorites. St. Augustine is full major historical landmarks (it's America's oldest city!) and a vibrant cultural scene. It's a beautiful hodgepodge of old and new, where history nerds and raging hipsters live in harmony.

Taking a stroll down Aviles Street.

Keepin' it weird at Plum Contemporary Gallery on Aviles St.
Sights down the historic St. George Street
Do This! Stroll down St. George Street all the way down to Aviles Street, and every little path off of those streets, for non stop sightseeing. Stores, Restaurants, Bars, Galleries, Photo-Op Spots and Randomness galore! Check out this Discovery Map of St. Augustine. It's what my friends and I used to get around.

The sketchy view of the Matanzas River.

We picked a peculiarly eerie weekend in December to go Ghost Hunting. The fog around the Matanzas River looked like a scene straight from The Pirates of the Caribbean. I was mentally preparing myself to see an army of skeleton pirates appear from the shadows. Scardy Cat! By the way, Matanzas means Killings in Spanish. St. Augustine has got a bloody, bloody past, making it a proper stage for ghost sightings!

Do This! The Saint Augustine Creepy Crawl. Even if you're not into ghost stories, go for the history lesson! You'll learn so much about St. Augustine and have drinks at bars along the way. It's like Drunk History but LIVE. (If you don't know what Drunk History is, click on that link. You're welcome.) The night was filled with fun and shenanigans but, alas, no ghosts!

Fire pit tables are much needed on chilly evenings. Meehan's Irish Pub.

Eat Here! Lots of yummy places to chow down around these parts but these are my favorites: For a low-key, all-american meal go to Meehan's. But you can't leave St. Augustine without trying the Colombia Restaurant; Seriously good Latin cuisine! For sweet tooth cravings, go to Bon Amie and have some delicious pastries. If it's warm out, check out The Hyppo for very tasty, gourmet popsicles. Yea, gourmet popsicles.

Lavender lemonade? Fresh croissants? How do you pass that up?!
The pistachio macaron was my favorite! Bon Amie.
What a flattering fortune teller... :)
Ripley's Believe It or Not.
The Tree Trunk House outside Ripley's.
Beautiful trees surrounding the St. Augustine Lighthouse.
Being Touristy on the Cheap! The St. Augustine Lighthouse is an obvious sightseeing stop. There is a fee to get into the Lighthouse Museum but if you wanna keep things free, cross the street over to the fishing dock for a picturesque view of the lighthouse (see the first pic!) and a relaxing time by the bay.

It was a short but awesome weekend out in St. Augustine; I'm going back in September for the Mumford & Sons' Gentlemen of the Road Tour and I can't wait for that epicness of music festival and more exploring!

COPPER MOUNTAIN | PHOTO DIARY

Last year, in late spring, I got the chance to visit Colorado for the third time. This time, I stayed in Copper Mountain and it was so peaceful. A deep breath up there feels like the air is purifying your lungs. This place and the surrounding towns look like somewhere Heidi would live, if she was American. Not much to do, other than to play outside, but, hey, sometimes you need that kind of detox.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

It's my favorite time of year- Halloweeeeeennn!
I didn't buy a costume this year but I had to do something.
This Dia de los Muertos- Sugar Skull look is by far the easiest and cheapest Halloween get-up I've ever had.
It was a HIT! Everyone loved it.
I made the rose headdress myself, and used mostly my own make up to draw the mask on.
If you want a tutorial, let me know :)

SAN DIEGO | WASHINGTON STREET SKATE PARK

WSKP is a cool little hidden spot built by skaters for skaters. Let's be real, I can't skate worth sh*t, but this place is spectator friendly- specially when the pros are around. As long as you stay out of the way of everyone grinding, and pick up after yourself, nobody will bother you. How to get there: I don't know. Sorry. All I know is that it's under the Pacific Highway. Go into a bike/skate/surf shop and ask about it.

NEW YORK | LADY GAGA'S CLOTHES

While interning in NYC, I got the chance to work with Nicola Formichetti's team during Fashion's Night Out. THANK YOU HOLY MOTHER OF FASHION GODS! I had no idea what a huge project the NICO PANDA pop up store was at that time. Honestly, while I was inventorying the countless of unique pieces of clothing and accessories, I just kept asking myself- WTF? Who'd wear this?? Then, I learned that Nicola is a frequent style guru to Lady Gaga and it all started to make sense.

Here are some behind-the-scenes snaps of those bat-shit-crazy, beautiful clothes:

Plastic alien-limb-looking necklaces.
Lady Gaga's clothes!

Ok, these jackets are actually awesome.
Aaaaaaalrighty then...
Told ya' they were freaky.
